Sky Sailing - Tennis Elbow
Owl City’s Adam Young has yet another side project (I guess these are his “early recordings”) called Sky Sailing. The only track I’ve heard so far is “Tennis Elbow” and it follows along the same vein as Owl City without the elaborate synth display. It’s got an easy relaxed acoustic sound that seems perfect for the summer. The instrumentation is more similar to “Saltwater Room.” Towards the end of the track (2:24) I thought it sounded really similar to Owl CIty’s “On The Wing” (mainly a rhythmic similarity). And I’m not sure what it is about the drums… it’s very Owl City. I guess he uses a distinct drum sound/beat or something. Anyway, it’s a good song, and it’s FREE here.
