I recently got this album through an Amazon textbook offer.  It was a $5 mp3 album download on Amazon!  I really like the songs I’ve heard from her.  ”Love Song” was all over the radio in college and my friend introduced me to “Vegas,” which I’ve also come to really like.  Her newest album, Kaleidoscope Heart, goes along the same vein with a fresher sound.  I was obsessed  with the strings version of “King of Anything” so I was excited to hear the rest of her album.  The beginning was fantastic, but I feel like the rest of the album wasn’t as ear-catching.  I’ll have to listen once again, but so far, my favorites are the a capella intro “Kaleidoscope Heart,” and “Uncharted.”  I still like the string version of “King of Anything” much more than the original.  Listen to the album here.

This is my opportunity for a plug for Grooveshark.  If you haven’t heard of Grooveshark, you’re missing out.  FREE and legal music streaming of the songs you want when you want (I don’t know of any limits yet), as long as the tracks are available.  The songs are uploaded by users, so quality may vary, but it’s still a fantastic webapp.  You can make an account for free and save your playlists or songs if you want as well.  Can’t download the songs but if you’re always connected to the internet, it won’t matter.  I really love Grooveshark.  It’s pretty perfect for broke students who have school wifi all the time.
